HOUSTON – A Houston woman faces a charge of intoxicated manslaughter in connection with a Sunday morning accident that left one woman dead, according to the Houston Police Department.
Jennifer Nicole Molina, 21, is charged with intoxication manslaughter with bail set at $50,000, according to police records.
Evelyn Galindo died Sunday morning after her car was rear-ended at the 10100 block of the North Freeway feeder road, just south of West Road, HPD said.
Galindo was driving a Honda Civic and was hit by Molina driving a Nissan Versa at 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, an official with HPD said. The Civic then slammed into a concrete pillar.
The Versa crashed through a chain-link fence and stopped in a parking lot, police said. Galindo was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police said Molina then called a relative who picked her up and left her car behind in the parking lot. The relative convinced her to return to the scene of the accident.
She was then given a sobriety test and had blood drawn, police said.
