HOUSTON –- Police said a woman was taken into custody after she crashed into an officer’s patrol car in northwest Houston late Tuesday.
The crash happened on N. Shepherd Drive at Thornton Road around 11 p.m., according to Houston police at the scene.
Police said the officer was traveling southbound when a woman in a black Lexus turned into him, t-boning the patrol car. The collision then caused the officer to hit a telephone pole.
“It was a pretty serious accident, but right now there are no reports of serious injuries,” said Sgt. JD Rossman. “The officer was sent to the hospital with minor injuries.”
The officer received stitches to a cut to his ear.
The woman in the Lexus was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, police said.
