HOUSTON – A woman accused of setting her husband’s clothing on fire and burning an apartment has been arrested and charged with arson, according to the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Chakira Allison‐Ateba allegedly set her husband’s clothes on fire at the 14600 block of Ella Boulevard in northwest Harris County on March 18.

“The suspect told arson investigators that she put her husband’s clothes in the fireplace and burned them because she was angry,” said Lieutenant Dean Hensley with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Investigators said the apartment sustained fire, smoke and water damage.

Allison-Ateba turned herself in to the Fire Marshal’s Office Wednesday and has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
