MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Fast acting deputy constables stopped a wrong-way driver on Interstate 45 over the weekend, and it was all caught on a patrol unit’s dash camera.
It happened south of Conroe on Friday night.
Montgomery County Constable Precinct 2 said a deputy was working a traffic stop near FM 1488 when an SUV drove by heading southbound in the northbound lanes.
The deputy sent out a radio call and turned around to chase the suspect. Officials said another constable down the interstate started directing drivers off the freeway.
Deputies eventually caught up with the wrong-way driver, and he was taken into custody after a brief scuffle. They identified the suspect as Miguel Angel Martinez-Alvando, 28, of Humble.
The man allegedly told deputies he believed that he was in Humble. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
