Vacant house catches fire north of downtown

HOUSTON – A condemned home caught fire late Sunday night just north of downtown, according to the Houston Fire Department.

HFD said the blaze was reported around 11:30 p.m. on Elysian Street at Campbell Street.

The first firefighters on the scene found heavy smoke and flames coming from the vacant one-story home. They were able to knock out the fire within 10 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
