HOUSTON – A local woman barely escaped with her life after a freak accident Wednesday evening east of downtown.
Bridgett Butler was driving down Sharon Street when a utility pole snapped in half and crashed through her windshield. It missed hitting her by mere inches.
Butler was visibly shaken when she spoke to us.
“I was driving down the street and the pole fell in my car, all I know is, you can see the pole fell in my car,” Butler said.
Firefighters made Butler stay in her car until CenterPoint Energy crews could arrive and turn off the power.
