TxDot dispatches sanding trucks in central Houston

HOUSTON --  In response to freezing weather and icy roadway conditions TxDOT sanding trucks have been dispatched in the Central Houston area. Current locations identified for immediate sanding include:

·         Full length of IH 10 between IH 610 West Loop and IH 610 East Loop
·         Full length of IH 610 Loop
·         Full length of US 59 from IH 610 West Loop to IH 610 North Loop
·         Full length of IH 45 from IH 10 to IH 610 South Loop
·         SH 288 northbound and southbound from Beltway 8 to IH 610
·         South Loop SH 225 eastbound and westbound
·         IH 610 East Loop to SH 146
·         SH 145 northbound and southbound from SH 225 to Loop 330
·         IH 10 eastbound and westbound from 610 East Loop to Loop 330
·         US 90 northbound and southbound from IH- 610 East Loop to Beltway 8
·         Full length of Spur 548 near the Hardy Tollroad/IH 610 Interchange Fred Hartmann Bridge
 
As other locations are confirmed to have ice, additional sanding crews will be dispatched throughout the night. Motorists are encouraged to stay informed of road conditions. For updated information on road conditions in the Houston District as well as statewide, please call our hotline at (800) 452-9292 or visit Houston Transtar’s website.
