HOUSTON— Liberty County investigators have arrested two men who are suspects in an act of vandalism that left thousands of Comcast customers with an outage in cable, phone and Internet services.
Benjamin Alexander, 38, and Bobby Lynn Nettles, 33, are suspects in an incident that happened on Dec. 6 on Highway 90 at Texaco Road, investigators said.
Liberty Police Department received a call from Comcast in reference to criminal mischief. Comcast found that the fiber optic line was cut, with damage estimated at approximately $3,000.
Alexander, who is from Liberty, and Nettles, who is from Crosby were both arrested on Dec. 12.
Investigators said similar vandalism has happened six times in the last two months and most of the work seems to take place during the overnight hours.
