HARRIS COUNTY – Two sheriff’s deputies were sent to a hospital Tuesday afternoon after they were involved in a vehicle collision in northwest Harris County.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred at 4 p.m. at the intersection of FM 1960 and Veterans Memorial when the two deputies were en route to join a car pursuit. When the deputies crossed the intersection, another driver made an illegal U-turn and the two vehicles collided.
The deputies’ patrol car flipped over leaving one of the officers temporally trapped in the vehicle. Both men were sent to a Houston Northwest Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The other driver was not injured in the collision and it has not released whether they would face charges for the illegal turn.
The suspect that was being pursued eventually pulled over and surrendered to law enforcement officers.
