HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -– An overturned truck and a lost load of lumber slowed northbound traffic on Highway 249 early Wednesday.

Houston TranStar reported the crash shortly after 8 a.m. near Bammel N. Houston Road.

A witness tells KHOU 11 News the truck's load shifted as the driver turned onto 249. The weight of the load caused the truck to fall on its side.

No other vehicles were involved.

Officers blocked off part of 249, causing a half-mile backup. Rubbernecking caused delays in the southbound lanes of 249 as well.

The wreckage was cleared out of the way around 11 a.m.
