HOUSTON – One person was injured in an accident involving a train and an 18-wheeler late Friday morning in northwest Harris County, according to deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred at the Hwy 290 Frontage Road and Telge Road. Aerial views from Air 11 show the train at a crossing on Telge Road with the truck close by.

The 18-wheeler was carrying what appears to be an industrial generator for an oil rig that broke loose from the back of the trailer, which appears to have been cut in half during the accident.

A train engineer was transported to North Cypress Hospital with minor injuries, deputies said. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

The intersection where accident occurred will be closed off for an extended period of time after deputies said the train was immovable and the guard rails were severely damaged.
