HOUSTON – Dozens of residents were evacuated from their homes in east Houston Saturday night after a train carrying chemicals went off the tracks.

The train derailment happened along the railroad tracks at Sherman near 65th Street.

Authorities said the train was carrying hazardous chemicals, so people in a three-block radius were evacuated as a precaution.
