Trail riders make their way to Memorial Park

HOUSTON – Thousands of trail riders came to the end of the road Friday as they pulled into Houston’s Memorial Park.

They have been riding into town all week. Saturday morning they will take part in the annual Rodeo Parade downtown which begins at 10 a.m. at Walker and Bagby at City Hall.

The riders exit Memorial Park Saturday morning at 8 a.m.

Awards were handed out Friday to the best trail rides. The Best Small Group Award went to the Old Spanish Trail Ride. Best Medium Trail Ride Award went to the always lively Texas Independence group. Last but not least, the Best Large Trail Ride Award went to the Salt Grass Trail Ride.

There were also two spirit awards which went to the Texas Independence and Prairie View Trail Rides.
