TOMBALL, Texas—A Tomball man was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography after a repair technician located hundreds of pornographic images on the suspect’s computer, investigators said.
Court documents state that Charles Satterfield, 64, took his computer to a Tomball repair shop after it froze up in October of 2009.
The repair technician said when he scanned the machine, he found a hidden file containing a number of hidden folders.
Inside the folders, the technician said he found images of underage boys and girls engaged in sexual activity with each other and with adult males, as well as two pornographic videos featuring children.
The technician said he fixed the computer without deleting the files and notified his employer, who released it back to Satterfield and called the police.
A little over a month later, investigators said they seized Satterfield’s computer and found child porn files. They said some had been there before the computer was taken to the shop, and some were downloaded afterward.
Investigators said Satterfield admitted during an interview that his addiction to porn had cost him his marriage and caused legal problems, but that he’d never molested a child.
He was out on $60,000 bond Wednesday.
