TOMBALL, Texas – A Tomball father accused of locking his son in a closet and choking him for constantly crying said it was all one big misunderstanding.

Jeremy Gene Krautlarger, 25, was charged with assault of a family member.

According to court documents, the child said Krautlarger locked him in a dark closet one day. When the child kept crying, his dad put his hands over his nose and mouth so he couldn’t breathe.

When the child still wouldn’t keep quiet, Krautlarger allegedly threatened his son, saying he would hang him with a vacuum cleaner hose.

Krautlarger’s attorney said in court Monday morning that the child made the entire story up. Krautlarger’s wife was in court supporting her husband.
