GALVESTON, Texas — Police asked Wednesday for tips to help identify a suspect who kicked in a woman’s door with the intention of sexually assaulting her.
A woman was showering at her apartment in the 4900 block of Fort Crocket Boulevard on Saturday when a stranger, described as a white or Hispanic man, broke into her home, Galveston police said.
The suspect was from 5-feet 7-inches to 5-feet 9-inches tall, weighed 150 to 170 pounds, had short, almost shaved, dark hair and wore a gold necklace, white T-shirt and dark shorts, police said.
The woman screamed, and the man, who possibly was concealing a weapon, fled in a white truck, a late 1990s or 2000-model Chevrolet or extended cab pickup, police said.
The truck was seen in the area between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. police said. It had dark, tinted windows, a black metal brush guard, a 3-inch to 4-inch lift with 4-by-4 tires and a dual exhaust, police said.
