HOUSTON – Two men were caught on surveillance video smashing into a store and making off with an ATM early Wednesday morning in Southwest Houston.

The video shows the men drive up just before 3 a.m. to the Super Way Food Store at the corner of Renwick and Pine streets and load the machine into the bed truck and leave.

The ATM was bolted to the floor next to a glass wall, but the store’s clerk Linh Nguyen said it took the men less than two minutes to steal the machine.

Customer Mable Thomas said she was “so sorry” this happened. She and several other customers said the owners are very friendly and help people all the time. The grandmother said, “They don’t deserve this.”

Another customer, Raymond Rudy said, “… this is my second home and I buy all my groceries here.” He was upset and fought back tears as he looked at the gaping hole at the business.

The truck left tire marks inside the store and glass everywhere.

Repairs could cost anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000.

The store’s owner was working on repairing the damage.

Houston police have not made any arrests in the case.
