HOUSTON – Texas Southern University this week lifted the suspension of its famed marching band, Ocean of Soul.
The band was suspended in September after an investigation uncovered hazing. Ten upperclassmen lost their scholarships, and they were banned from the school’s campus.
Hazing is a serious crime in Texas, but TSU officials didn’t press any criminal charges.
The Ocean of Soul should return to the field on Oct. 27, according to a school smokesman.
