WEBSTER, Texas – A teenage girl was arrested in the case of the dead newborn baby found at a Goodwill store in Webster last month.

It happened on Sep. 6 at the store located on the Gulf Freeway near Nasa Road 1.

Police said it was 18-year-old Kayla Jones’ first day working at the store when she gave birth to a full-term baby boy.

Afterwards, workers spotted blood on her pants and went to the bathroom. The baby was in the trash can.

Jones told police she was scared because no one knew she was pregnant.

She is charged with injury to a child by omission and is out on bond.
