HOUSTON -- Google is handing out college scholarships once again this year as part of an online art contest for grade school students.

It just started this week, which means now is the time to get your kids involved -- even if they don't think they are "artistically talented."

This is the sixth year Google has hosted what it calls “Doodle 4 Google.” You know how the website sometimes gets creative with the logo on its homepage using creative, interactive illustrations? Well now it wants your kids to make them. No, they don’t have to be super fancy or interactive – just creative.

The deadline for this year’s contest is March 22. The grand prize: a $30,000 college scholarship. The winner’s school will also receive $50,000 for tech improvements. There are prizes and smaller scholarships for other finalists, too.

All you have to do is download the form from Google’s website and get your child to sketch something up. This year’s theme is “My Best Day Ever.” Once they've drawn it up, just mail it to Google.

Good luck, Houston!
