HOUSTON –- Houston police said two people were taken into custody and a third got away following a chase on the northeast side late Sunday.

According to officers with the Houston Police Department, the chase started around 11:30 p.m.

An officer said a vehicle ran a stop sign on Hopper at the Eastex Freeway. The female driver, with four male passengers, allegedly refused to pull over.

Police said she led them on about a 15-minute chase around Beltway 8 to the North Freeway where she lost control and crashed at Rankin.

Police said two of the passengers stayed in the vehicle, but the driver and two other suspects jumped out and ran across the freeway’s southbound lanes.

After about 30 minutes of searching, Houston police managed to locate the driver and one of the male passengers. The third man was not located.

Police said the car they were in was reported stolen out of Sealy.
