HOUSTON—Two gunmen broke into a northwest Houston home, killing one person and wounding another, police said.
It happened at a home on Weeping Willow Road near Randon Road around 8:45 a.m. Monday.
Witnesses called the Houston Police Department and said the suspects got out of a black sedan in front of the home. They then forced their way in and opened fire. The gunmen ran back outside to their car and sped away, witnesses said.
Amides Artiga, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. His mother was taken to the hospital. A teenager was also inside, but was not injured.
Neighbors said Artiga lived with his mother and younger brother.
As of 12 p.m. the search for the suspects continued. Police were looking for a black Ford Crown Victoria with silver rims.
A neighbor who spoke with KHOU 11 News said robbers have struck the home several times before. The last time, the attackers reportedly broke the homeowner’s arm.
