HOUSTON – A suspected drunk driver was in jail after leading police on a high-speed chase through northwest Houston on Friday.

Police said an officer was running radar on Highway 290 at Fairbanks N. Houston when he clocked a white vehicle going 108 mph.

Authorities said the officer tried to pull the female driver over, but she would not stop and kept driving on Highway 290.

She then led police through several streets, eventually stopping at Eldridge Parkway.

Police said during the chase the suspect lost control several times and drove off the road, but managed to keep going.

She was arrested and faces felony evading charges and possible DWI charges depending on the results of a blood alcohol test.
