HOUSTON – K-9 officers helped track down a suspect who ran into a wooded area after crashing into two vehicles in southeast Houston late Thursday.
A pickup truck was speeding northbound on Highway 288 at Orem around 11 p.m. when it slammed into the side of a car, causing it to spin around. The pickup then slid into a grassy area on the shoulder of the freeway.
The male driver of the pickup then jumped out and ran into the heavy shrubs in the field.
HPD and K-9 units found the suspect hiding in the heavy overgrowth. The suspect was arrested and faces failure to stop and give information charges. He will also be tested to see if any alcohol was involved.
