HOUSTON –- Two suspects managed to run away after crashing during a chase involving Conroe police early Tuesday, officers said.

Police said it was just before 1 a.m. when an officer spotted a pickup towing a trailer without lights on Highway 105 at I-45. The driver refused to pull over and got onto I-45 southbound.

He took police on about a 30-minute chase before exiting the freeway and crashing into a parked truck on Plaza Verde Drive at Green Plaza Drive. The driver and a male passenger then jumped out and managed to get away on foot.

Police said it appeared the truck, which did not have a rear license plate, was stolen from a construction company in north Houston.
