SUGAR LAND, Texas –- Police in Sugar Land are looking for a man who held a woman at gunpoint and forced her to drive him to northwest Harris County.

It happened late Monday night as the 21-year-old woman was driving home, according to the Sugar Land Police Department.

The woman told police she stopped at Palm Royale Boulevard and Commonwealth Boulevard at 10:40 p.m. and saw a white man wearing all black standing on the side of the road.

The woman waited to see if the man would cross the road, but instead he walked up to her car and pulled out a gun. The man pointed the gun at the woman and forced her to unlock the passenger side door.

Police said the man got in and said he needed a ride to National Oilwell Varco, located at 5250 North Sam Houston Parkway. The man provided directions for the woman. When they got to the business, he exited her vehicle.

The woman told SLPD she didn’t see the man walk away, but she thinks it was around 11:40 p.m. when he got out of the car. The incident was reported to police nearly two hours later.

The victim described the suspect as white, 17 to 22 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 130 pounds. He had long brown hair and was wearing a khaki backpack and black clothes, including a black knit cap and black rubbery gloves.

She said he spoke with a "ghetto" Hispanic accent and appeared to dress in a "gothic" style.

Anyone with information should call the Sugar Land Police Department at 281-275-2540 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477).
