SUGAR LAND, Texas – Sugar Land’s new minor league baseball team finally has a name: The Sugar Land Skeeters.
Baseball fans picked the name from three options.
Skeeters beat out the King Canes and Lizard Kings.
Kids from Lakeview Elementary helped with the name and logo unveiling Wednesday morning.
The Skeeters’ first season will begin in April of 2012.
