HOUSTON -- A tall 18-wheeler became stuck under a freeway ramp on the west side of town early Wednesday afternoon, slowing inbound traffic along the Southwest Freeway.

Traffic was backed up for hours on the Southwest Freeway approaching the West Loop. The northbound ramp to the West Loop northbound was closed, and traffic was being diverted southbound.

It took crews a few hours to free the big rig. Once it was towed away, officials determined there was no serious damage to the ramp.

It was reopened around 3:30 p.m.
