HOUSTON – Police were searching for a driver who crashed a stolen vehicle into a home in southwest Houston on Tuesday night.

It happened around 9:15 p.m. in the 12400 block of Ashcroft, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said the large, dark colored Ford pickup truck was stripped, and someone put a brick on the gas pedal. The unoccupied truck ran into the garage portion of the home. Police said when they arrived, it was clear the truck’s tires continued to spin even after it hit the home.

The suspects were nowhere to be seen.

An elderly woman inside the home was shaken up by the incident and looked over by paramedics, but no injuries were reported.
