AUSTIN -- If you want to see your favorite band or sports team play this spring, you’ll more than likely buy your ticket through Ticketmaster; but, did you know you cannot give it away?
It's part of a new Ticketmaster policy.
The so-called "paperless ticket" requires the ticket buyer to present their credit card and photo ID at the gate on the day of the concert or event.
The idea is to cut down on scalping, but critics say it’s unfair to fans because they can't even give away their ticket if they can't attend the event.
So many fans have complained that Texas lawmakers are considering a bill to stop Ticketmaster from enforcing the policy.
A House committee will hold a public hearing on the issue Tuesday in Austin.
