HOUSTON – The Star of Hope mission is preparing for frigid temperatures with the arrival of an Arctic front in Southeast Texas on Sunday.

The shelter is on a cold weather alert and plans to plan to provide a warm place to sleep for more men, women and children.

The Hope in Action van will be out Sunday as workers will be handing out blankets, coats and hygiene kits to the city’s homeless.

The shelter said that more donations are needed to help ensure that everyone is prepared for the freeze.
