HOUSTON—Investigators are trying to find out who killed a man found lying dead in his north Harris County apartment Wednesday night.
Deputies were called to the Parkwood Apartments in the 500 block of Cypress Station at Westfield Place around 10:40 p.m. They entered to find a 33-year-old man lying dead in the home. He had been stabbed multiple times.
Detectives said the man’s friend went to go check on him after he hadn’t been to work in a couple of days. When she arrived, she could hear a television playing on the inside, but no one came to the door when she knocked.
“When she still couldn’t make contact with him, she contacted his former roommate and was able to obtain a key,” said Ben Beall, Harris County Homicide.
After getting the key, she entered and made the horrific discovery.
“I jumped up and I ran over there and when I walked in the door, he was just laying on the floor bloody, somebody had covered his face up with something,” she said.
A neighbor said she heard a struggle shortly before the friend arrived.
Deputies believe the victim may have known his attacker because someone locked the door as they were leaving.
