HOUSTON – The South Loop has re-opened after a deadly accident Sunday morning in southwest Houston, police said.
According to Houston Police Department, the accident happened at 8:30 a.m. in the 4600 block of the South Loop between Stella Link Road and Braeswood Boulevard when a woman walked about halfway across the highway, but then turned around.
As she tried to walk back, she was hit and killed by a PT Cruiser.
Police closed the westbound lanes of the loop while they investigated. The driver did stop and will not face any charges.
The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
