HOUSTON—Frank Wilson’s troubled tenure as president and CEO of the Metropolitan Transit Authority may be winding to an end.

City Hall sources tell 11 News that arrangements are now under way for Wilson to leave Metro as early as this week.  His interim replacement is expected to be George Greanias, the former Houston City Controller who chaired Mayor Annise Parker’s Metro transition team.

Wilson has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks, particularly after a series of 11 News reports that he took his chief of staff along on a trip to Spain.  An attorney suing Metro over an open records request alleged the woman was Wilson’s girlfriend.  Wilson has denied having an inappropriate relationship.

Metro’s board announced this afternoon it plans to discuss Wilson’s employment during a meeting scheduled for Friday.

11 News tried to reach Wilson at a transportation conference he was scheduled to attend this week. We were told he couldn't make it at the last minute.

Metro officials had no further comment.
