HOUSTON - Local business community sources have confirmed to KHOU 11 Sports that the NBA All-Star game is coming to Houston in 2013.
The game will be played at Toyota Center.
Local business leaders have been working with the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority and the Houston Rockets for months on this bid.
One source says Rockets owner Leslie Alexander deserves most of the credit for locking up the bid.
Rockets CEO Tad Brown is not commenting on the All-Star Game speculation at this time.
It’s believed that availability of local hotel rooms was one of the last hurdles the host committee had to clear. Once that was taken care of, the bid was a done deal.
NBA officials in New York have had no official comment.
