MONGTOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Authorities say a slick road is to blame for a wreck that killed two 19-year-old women in southwest Montgomery County on Friday.
DPS officials said the two girls were traveling on Roberts Cemetery Road near Nichols Saw Mill Road around 10:30 a.m. when their car hit a curb on the slick road.
Authorities said the car lost control and spun into the opposite lane before striking a pickup truck head-on. The impact sent both vehicles into a nearby ditch.
The two girls, identified as Anne Donlon and Kate Walker, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, Samuel Espe, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
