FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas -- A 9-year-old girl helped investigators draw a sketch of the man she said tried to kidnap her.

It happened on Friday, Jan. 24, but Dakota Barker didn't say anything to her mom for a week because her dad was out of town.

"It made me feel like I didn't want to freak her out because she was scared because my dad wasn't here," said Dakota.

Dakota told us that she and a friend were walking to the park's bath house after school to get a soda. Her buddy ran home to grab another quarter and that's when a strange man approached Dakota.

"He said do you want to come to my house and I said no," recalled Dakota. "He kept on saying that like three times."

As Dakota was walking off, she said the man grabbed her arm but she managed to yank it away and run off.

"I was thinking in my mind like what's going to happen to me," said the 3rd grader. "Is he going to take me, like it was just scary."

A week later, she told her dad.

"I can't describe the anger that I felt," explained Clark Barker. "It was a matter of being scared and angry all at the same time."

He was also upset that Dakota kept it to herself for so long.

She has since sat down with investigators and described in detail what happened. They have no reason to believe she is making up the story.

She also helped create a composite sketch of what the suspect looks like.

He's described as a white male, between 5'9 to 6' tall with a thin build. He's estimated to be about 20 years old and was wearing a dark blue work shirt with no writing on it and khaki pants. He also has a tattoo of a skull on his right forearm.

Dakota said she's never seen the man before.

Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5000 dollar reward for information in this case. Call (281) 342-TIPS or send a text tip that includes the letters FBCCS to 274637.
