A security guard is dead after being shot by three suspects at a north Houston apartment complex, police said.

HOUSTON – A security guard is dead after being shot by three suspects at a north Houston apartment complex, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, a security guard with SEAL Security responded to a fire at 1:30 a.m. in an apartment complex located near Casa Grande Drive and Buckle Lane. When he arrived at the scene, he approached three suspicious males walking away from the fire.

One of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the guard in the head, police said.

The security guard was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition where he later died, police said.

The suspects remain at large, police said.
