HOUSTON— A second suspect has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a taco truck owner in northwest Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
A Madisonville police officer arrested Adrian Gomez around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. The officer spotted Gomez sitting outside a closed business and realized he was wanted in Harris County after running a background check.
Last Monday, members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitives Task Force arrested John Ray Aycock Jr.
Both men have been charged with capital murder. Gomez will be transferred to the Harris County Jail, where Aycock is currently being held.
Aycock and Adrian Gomez are accused of killing Lorenzo Juan Vasquez, 53, during a robbery on Oct. 12 in the 8100 block of Fairbanks North Houston.
Investigators said an armed man walked up to Vasquez’ taco truck and ordered food and while Vasquez and his wife were preparing it, the suspect burst through the door.
Vasquez was trying to protect his wife when he was shot.
