MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas—One man was arrested and another was on the run after a Wells Fargo bank was robbed early Thursday in The Woodlands.

The robbery was reported at about 7 a.m. in the 7800 block of Research Forest Drive.

The employees were on their way into work when two armed men followed them in and demanded money, deputies said. Once they got the cash they fled.

Deputies were able to catch one of the men. They were searching for the other robber.

Conroe ISD officials released a statement saying, out of abundance of caution, the district’s police department advised the following schools to go into a security alert: Buckalew Elementary, Bush Elementary, Galatas Elementary, Powell Elementary, Mitchell Intermediate, and The Woodlands High School.

“This is when all exterior doors are locked and verified and no one is permitted to go outside, but normal activity continues within the building. In addition, an officer has been assigned to the campuses for added security.  We always take the safety of our students and staff seriously, thus the need for the procedures.” – CONROE ISD
