SEABROOK, Texas—A 22-year-old man is accused of raping and robbing a woman he met on the Internet, according to Seabrook police.
Kelan Christopher Francis was charged with robbery and rape.
Police said Francis met a woman on Backpage.com and the two agreed to meet at a motel on November 7.
Once the woman let him inside her room, Francis raped her at gunpoint, according to police.
Police said after the rape, he took her laptop, two cell phones and two digital cameras. He then fled in a tan sedan with wide custom rims.
Police who responded to the scene reviewed hotel surveillance video that showed the woman letting Francis into the building, and him exiting a short time later.
They immediately contacted her cell phone provider and were able to track one of the phones to the Almeda Mall parking lot. Detectives went to that location and found the tan sedan.
They waited and grabbed Francis and another man, 22-year-old Richaud Lamont Wilson, when the two went back to the car.
Wilson was also charged with robbery.
