School board accepts Hempstead principal's resignation

HEMPSTEAD, Texas – A Hempstead principal who asked students to only speak English in class has resigned.

The school board voted has accepted Amy Lacey’s resignation. Lacey led Hempstead Middle School.

Last November students said she announced over the intercom that Spanish was no longer allowed to be spoken in class.
