HOUSTON – A member of one of Houston’s most prominent families has been found dead inside his River Oaks home.

Eighty-four-year-old Roy Cullen was heir to the Cullen oil fortune and, along with his wife Mary, a big patron of the arts in Houston.

Cullen had been ill for some time. He shot himself Friday morning inside the safe room of his house on Kirby.
