ROSENBERG, Texas – Three men were arrested after they were accused of trying to break into a Rosenberg apartment complex, police said.
Devonte Ballard, Herreal Montalvo and Malcome Matthews are all charged with attempted burglary of a habitation, police said. Ballard faces an additional charge of failure to identify, while Matthews is also charged for possession of marijuana under 2 ounces.
According to the Rosenberg Police Department, officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress at a local apartment complex. Witnesses said they saw two male suspects prying the window of one of the units.
The suspects then took turns trying to break the double-pane window with their fists and then a foreign object, witnesses said.
A third suspect watched the burglary attempt from the driver seat of their getaway vehicle, witnesses said. Once the suspects saw a witness driving up to their location, the three fled in their vehicle.
Police were able to locate the fleeing vehicle and took all three suspects into custody.
