HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A robber wearing a bandana over his face pistol-whipped a clerk at a doughnut shop in north Harris County early Tuesday, deputies said.

The robbery happened at the Dunkin’ Donuts on FM-1960 a few blocks west of I-45 North.

A store manager told KHOU 11 News it was shortly before 6 a.m. when the gunman came into the store and demanded cash. The suspect hit the clerk on the back of the head with his gun and then took off.

The clerk suffered only minor injuries. The manager said customers were in the store at the time, but they were not harmed.

Deputies hope surveillance video will help lead them to a suspect. It wasn't known if he got away with any money.
