HOUSTON—A 34-year-old woman was beaten to death in front of her family during a home invasion in Montgomery County Monday morning, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said. It happened in the Legions Ranch subdivision on Ginger Trace Drive around 2 a.m. According to investigators, Lisa Lynette Whitt-Ulloa, her 26-year-old husband and her 18-year-old daughter were all in the home when two masked men barged in. Investigators said the men entered through an unlocked door and surprised the family in the living room. The suspects, who were armed with what appeared to be baseball bats, threatened, bound and assaulted the victims. Whitt-Ulloa’s injuries proved fatal. Investigators believe robbery was the motive, but it was not clear if anything was taken from the home. They said the daughter was able to free herself after the suspects fled and ran to a neighbor’s home for help. When deputies arrived, the daughter and her step-dad were waiting at the neighbor’s home. They were both taken to the hospital, but they are expected to recover from their injuries. Investigators said Whitt-Ulloa and her husband had been married about seven months and only recently moved into the home. Anyone with information on this incident should call the authorities.
