HOUSTON – Harris County Precinct 7 deputies are warning parents about drug paraphernalia they say is being sold in Houston-area stores.
Deputies said several stores are selling glass tubes with tiny, long-stem roses inside of them.
It’s called a Love Rose. And though it sounds innocent, deputies say the rose can be pushed out by a twisted piece of brillo pad also sold in the stores, turning the tube into a crack pipe.
Deputies on Wednesday confiscated several containers of Love Rose, a box of twisted brillo pads and hundreds of cigarettes that were being sold individually.
"This particular store is selling individual pipes in small brown bags, along with cut pieces of brillo pad that is used as a filter for smoking," Capt. Monroe Wilkerson said.
Each box contained 36 Love Roses, and they were being sold for $1 each, deputies said.
"Since these items can be legally sold to minors, parents must be notified," Constable May Walker said.
