HOUSTON – A transformer issue knocked out power to about 2,500 customers in Uptown early Friday afternoon, CenterPoint Energy tells KHOU 11.

The power outage took out traffic lights at several intersections north and northeast of the Galleria, causing traffic issues in an already congested part of town.

Power was expected to be restored by 2 p.m., according to CenterPoint.
