HOUSTON –- A power outage was reported at the University of Houston early Monday, a school spokesman confirmed with KHOU 11 News.
The outage was reported sometime around 6 a.m.
Richard Bonnen said the extent of the outage wasn’t immediately known, but emergency generators were activated and it was "business as usual" on the campus.
Some students said they were studying in the business college when the lights went out. As of 10:30 a.m., residents of Cougar Village 1 reported having no water or power.
Bonnen said the outage was "internal" and related to equipment on campus.
Shortly before 11 a.m., the school tweeted, "Update: Power has been restored to all areas of campus. Some areas may see brief isolated outages, but campus & classes remain open."
