SHENANDOAH, Texas – Police are on the hunt for two suspects in a violent robbery at a Valero convenience store in Shenandoah.

It happened at the store in the 28000 block of I-45 North.

Police said two men rushed into the store around 3:30 a.m.

One of them jumped over the checkout counter and punched the clerk in the face, while the other grabbed a broom from the store’s utility room.

Police said the second man used the broomstick to beat the clerk over the head, causing a severe laceration and multiple bruises.

The clerk said the men demanded money from the register, and also made off with lottery tickets and cigarettes.

One of the men was dressed in an orange, long-sleeved shirt, long black shorts and a black ball cap with a red bill and white logo.

The second was wearing a gray hoodie, long tan shorts and a red ball cap with a black bill and black logo.

Police are also looking for a man who left the store just as the suspects were walking in. They want to question him as a potential witness.

The clerk was taken to the hospital, but police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Anyone with information on the identities of the suspects is urged to call Det. Mark Denham with the Shenandoah Police Department at 281-367-8952 or Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-7867.
